Milkwood has
been created in a friendly, approachable style to complement the
more classically styled and structured Métier range. Two
whites, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, and two reds, Pinot Noir
and Shiraz, are vinified from Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula
and Central Victorian fruit.
Limited oak maturation yields wines of attractive primary fruit
and supple structure. From 2003, the four wines are being bottled
with Stelvin screw-cap closures to maintain freshness and to overcome
the growing problem of cork-related taint.
Milkwood Wines are ideally suited to the market for clean, fresh,
youthful wines – bright fruit and subtle oak ensure that they
complement a range of contemporary cuisines.
Currently available are the 2003 Sauvignon Blanc, 2002 Chardonnay,
2001 Pinot Noir and 2001 Shiraz. Milkwood Wines are available in
wine shops, bistros and restaurants in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
